Dette har jeg gjort gjennom intervjuer av tidligere og nåværende Demokratene-medlemmer, i tillegg til dokumentanalyse av Demokratenes partiprogram og aktuelle avisartikler. Hensikten med oppgaven har vært å kartlegge Demokratenes fremtredende valgresultat i forhold til hva som skjer ellers i verden, med fokus på populisme og nasjonalisme. The USAID sustainable livelihood framework supplemented by the concepts of agency and empowerment served as the main theoretical points of discussion for this study.
